By now you know that Twitter has taken on a life of its own. What used to be considered a micro-blogging site is now the topic of most online conversations. You might be asking yourself what that may mean to your business and more importantly what it means to you.

As someone who didn’t want to use Twitter for quite some time, I finally dove in and learned what all of the excitement was about. Similar to other social networking sites like Flickr and Facebook and others, Twitter provides a forum for real time communication. It connects us all and brings us closer to others with similar interests.

What if you could find influential people in your industry and directly listen to them, learn from them, and have insight into what they’re focused on? Enter Twitter and the ability to search, find, and follow those in your industry. You may be quite surprised by all the people out there in your niche sharing ideas, news, and information. By following these people you can stay on top of industry trends and learn a great deal.

You may be thinking that Twitter sounds great for learning about a particular but what other value does it provide. After you’ve identified those you want to follow for work related reasons, you should also consider adding some individuals to your list that are aligned with hobbies you may have, goals, or aspirations. Twitter is shaped by you and for you so consider what content would add value to your life.

Just like you follow others, others can follow you on Twitter. You might be asking what the purpose or point of building a list of followers may be. This depends on what you are trying to accomplish with Twitter. If your goal is to use it simply in a casual way, then you may be looking to build a list of followers among your friends. If you are interested in Twitter for business purposes, you should consider your list of followers just like you would a house list that you market to on a regular basis.

After building a solid list that is comprised of followers that value what you have to say and offer by way of free information, consider how you can encourage them to move through your purchase process. One tip is to offer free information that they can register for or download from your site. You can use an auto responder to help move them through to the purchase of a product or service you or your company has to offer. This is one of many ways to benefit from Twitter.

If you haven’t already reached this conclusion, getting involved with is like have a direct dialog with prospects. Begin by offering something of value, gaining their trust and following. Once you’ve proven yourself as an expert or industry leader it’s time to promote products or services that help to solve a problem. Twitter is a great tool for building your online business and targeting prospective customers.

The dental profession is a highly competitive field of expertise. Thousands of dentists graduate every year hoping to become among the most sought dentists in the world. Unfortunately many will eventually discover that making a name does not happen overnight.

If you want people to know you, you must broadcast yourself. You can use many marketing strategies, like word of mouth, classified ads and posters for this purpose, but the thing that will give you a definite advantage is called video marketing.

Video marketing is a high-tech and powerful tool used by many to grow their business. Anybody can take advantage of video marketing, even dentists. Video marketing for dentists is actually not very uncommon these days.

Almost everybody is going online and using the internet for a variety of reasons. Thus, it may be necessary for you to use the internet, too, in order to be a step ahead of your competitors. Learning your way through is not difficult at all, even though you may think that it is. The internet is there to make things easy for you, after all, so maybe it just takes a little getting used to.

To begin with, you must have a video of yourself, or the products and services that you offer. If you choose to make your own video, that is just fine, but if you are not particularly skilled at this and you have enough money to pay for a professional to do the job for you, then do as you please.

Once you have a video to show the world, you can use video uploading sites like YouTube. YouTube may not be the best in the world in terms of quality, but it’s one of the most popular sites with millions of members all over the world.

The beauty of Twitter of course is that it’s opt-in, and shady looking people that follow you don’t need to be followed back. Long-time users of Twitter get this, and even if spam increases, they won’t be fooled. But as new, less experienced users join the system – which they’re doing in droves – the community is ripe for unscrupulous behavior. Software like Tweettorando makes it far too easy to exploit Twitter’s vulnerabilities, and hopefully, will not have a long shelf life as the microblogging service plugs its holes.
